At Tamarack Keeshonden we are dedicated to breeding exceptional, healthy, happy Keeshonden with outstanding temperaments.

Our dogs are family members first and show, performance dogs second. We take pride in having friendly dogs that can compete with the best Keeshonden in the country in the show, obedience and agility ring.

We produce very few, meticulously researched litters in a healthy smoke-free environment. We feed a well balanced diet of top quality kibble and organic supplements. Our dogs drink inspected well water, not chlorinated city water. All of our dogs and puppies live amongst us at all times. They are never raised in a kennel environment.

We do not sell every dog as a conformation show dog. Only those exceptional dogs who display the proper attitude and confidence, as well as adherence to the Keeshond Club of America and AKC breed standard are placed in potential show homes or kept by us for breeding stock and showing. All others are sold to fully researched companion homes as well as homes that might show in Obedience or Agility.

We began Tamarack Keeshonden in 2002 when we purchased our first Keeshond, Echo. Since then we have raised and handled numerous dogs to their American and Canadian Championships and have supported and educated others on the breed through our service in multiple kennel club’s as well as educational outreach within the dog community. We have also mentored many new Keeshond owners in the show ring as well as in the care and upbringing of their dogs.

We are current members of the Keeshond Club of America, the Heart of America Keeshond Club, the Keeshond Club of Canada, and the Anoka County Minnesota Kennel Club.

Steve serves as President of the Heart of America Keeshond Club as well as the Show Chairman for the Heart of America Regional Keeshond Specialty held in November in Kansas City, Kansas. Steve was also the Show Chairman of the Top Keeshond Event at the 2007 Keeshond National in Kansas City. In addition, Steve is President of the Anoka County Minnesota Kennel Club, its Chief Ring Steward, as well as a member of the Summer Solstice Cluster Committee for its annual all breed show held in conjunction with the Cambridge Minnesota Kennel Club in June each year. Betsy is Secretary for the Anoka County Minnesota Kennel Club. We subscribe to the KCA Breeder Code of Ethics and commit to raise healthy, happy Keeshonden. We perform all required health tests and CHIC requirements for the breed and all of our dogs come with a health guarantee.

We are committed to producing Champion quality, AKC Registered, purebred Keeshonden with an eye to proper structure, movement and coat.
